Qamaruddin Khan opened this school twenty years ago to teach the children of his own neighbourhood. When he started, the fee was ₹20 a month — later ₹100 — because the families here could not have sent their children to school otherwise. The fee has grown with the school, to ₹300 today. What has not changed is who this school is for: children whose parents never had the chance to study, and who deserve every chance to choose a different life.कमरुद्दीन खान ने बीस साल पहले अपने ही मोहल्ले के बच्चों को पढ़ाने के लिए यह स्कूल शुरू किया था। शुरुआत में फीस ₹20 प्रति माह थी — बाद में ₹100 — क्योंकि यहाँ के परिवार इसके बिना अपने बच्चों को स्कूल नहीं भेज पाते। स्कूल के साथ फीस भी बढ़ी है, आज ₹300। जो नहीं बदला है वह यह है कि यह स्कूल किसके लिए है: वे बच्चे जिनके माता-पिता को पढ़ने का मौका कभी नहीं मिला, और जो अपने लिए एक अलग जीवन चुनने के हर मौके के हकदार हैं।
